Review: Watchmen (movie)

I can sum up the problem with the Watchmen movie in two sentences but before I do, I want to say that I liked it. That’s all, just like. If Watchmen was a girl, I’d give it the “just friends” speech (it’s not you; it’s me) and then go hook up with her prettier cousin, Iron Man. I liked it, but I didn’t love it. My two sentence review:

Watchmen is the Citizen Kane of comics. The movie is NOT Citizen Kane.

Extra: Fantagraphics’ Eric Reynolds does it in five words.

Oh, sure, be all succinct about it, while I babbled on for a couple thousand words :)

  2. yeah, but I enjoyed yours!

Yeah I did not love the film and I LOVE THE BOOK

  4. Again, the movie was fine. It had a story, which is saying a lot since plenty of movies don’t even have that much. Was the story in the movie great? No, but it was entertaining. I’m thinking about seeing it again because I think I went in ready to hate it, and honestly, too many folks liked it to really hate it.

something that stands out to me about Watchmen is the amazing character development; they do a great job making each person in that movie a whole, unique person
