RECAP: In November 2010, I participated in the 30 Characters Challenge and created 35 new characters. In December, I gave them all away (for the most part). I decided that one of my projects in 2011 would be to add to that list of 35 and, by December 2011, create 100 new characters total. Every Monday, I will post a new character. This is the third:
Concept: This one doesn’t have a Hollywood logline (at least, I can’t think of one right now), so let’s get to it…
Seven people, spread across the country, all purchase the same Halloween costume; a superhero no one has ever heard of called the Gear. The costume is one-size fits all, and not only do three women get the costume, but also one child. Soon after wearing the costume, they all find they have extraordinary abilities, but only in the suit. Little do they know that they are destined for something bigger…the Gears must “build” a “machine.” But what is the Machine? And can all of them be trusted to do the right thing? Is there…a villain in their midst?
A few notes. I’m not going to put every character into the Creative Commons, like I did with the initial 35. Reason being that it seems like not a lot of folks have run with the ball and I had hoped they would. So, it’s best to just work on them myself and then, maybe after a one-shot or something, put them out there.

ARTISTS – If you’d like to take a swing at drawing NAME (daily sketch, etc), let me know so I can post your art here on the site! For example, this rendition was done by my good friend, and up-and-coming artist, Steven Norman II!
